Originally started in Interaction Design course at the Zurich University of the Arts, ZHdK, Andreas Fürer, Andy Kirk & Sonjoi Nielsen developed an object akin to a mechanical arm or tentacle, which with simple base mechanics is capable of various intricate articulations. Through machine-based choreography influenced by organic responses to sensory inputs and scenography, the core mechanics are used to explore tensions and interactions between the fields of technology and nature, in a speculative vision of reciprocating mimicry and emulation.
