Linux Friends

Linux Friends
The Association of Linux Friends is an institute promoting free and open source software (Linux).
It is a Cameroon-based organization, founded in 2006 by Pauli Michel Raymond, with Ngainku
Pauli Chanceline as President and Coordinator. The Association of Linux Friends is recognized with
authorization (No.639/G.37/D.14/1/VOL10/185/BAPP of 27 October 2008) . Linux friends have as
projects: Robotics, solar energy, Computer training, Water Detector, Media Pipe technology,
Security Camera, drilling of borehole water, and 3Dprinting. Linux Friends have been visited by
many Swiss Friends who have contributed in one way or another for the growth of the project.
However for the pass six years the Verein zur Unterstützung der Linux Friends Limbe, have raised a
minimum amount to pay the teachers.
Beside the above projects, Linux Friends have the beginners and the advance class, in the beginners
class subject like OpenOffice.org Writer, Calc, Impress and Html are thought meanwhile in the
advance class subjects such as Database, Php, Networking, Solar installations are thoughts. Classes
runs from Tuesdays to Saturdays. From 9:00 am to 12:00 noon for the beginners class and from
9:00am to 4:00pm for the advance class.
For the moment Linux friends is unable to pay the teachers correctly because the money raised by
the Swiss friends is not enough. The value of the service car of Linux Friends is at zero at the
moment given the fact that it was bought as a second hand car and is used now for more than 5
years.
Linux Friends need to build up the above mention project with interested persons, this projects need
a lot of financial and materials assistance.
For the pass four months Chanceline have been able to work in Switzerland, raised some money
which have supported the project so far. Meanwhile Pauli Michel Raymond, a Swiss and founder of
the project is still in Limbe working on the project. Equally Asama Marceline is coordinating all
activities of Linux Friends in Limbe while Chanceline is coordinating in Switzerland
However, it would be great to fine a team here in Switzerland which can coordinate young Swiss
friends to be part of the project technically. This means people who can visit the project, see for
themselves and give their own feet back.
To conclude, it should be noted that Linux Friends was able to accommodate those who visited the
project, Linux friends still have accommodation for those wishing to visit the project. 5 to 6 visitors
at a time.
